What's a good price on a S&W 629 44mag?
« on: October 09, 2006, 05:18:21 AM »
Hello everyone.
I've been dreaming about a S&W 629 44 mag for a long time.  I've kicked around the idea of tradign in my ruger super blackhawk 7.5" barrel against a 629 6" barrel for hunting.  What do you all think is a good trade in value for the almost new ruger and what would be a good deal on a new S&W 629 44 mag iron sights, no hiviz.

Has anyone bought any handguns off of gunbroker.com or a similar site?  They seem to have great deals on guns, but I'd still have to go through a local FFL.

I would look at Auction Arms or Guns America. Gunbrroker kinda sucks with the 15 minute rule. Bidds keep going on until nobody bids for 15 minutes . There is a S&W forum but the prices aren't that good. I can usually gets a better deal on a new one at a local dealer.

Good clean used S&W .44mag  go for around $450...excellent condition, that is....gun by itself with no accessories.   $550 if almost new with box and all original papers, tools, instructions, etc.  (Early guns and collectors models are more).
