Scope Ring Question
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:56:38 AM »
OK  I bought my new rifle Saturday Tikka T3 30-06 stainless w/ camo stock, getting everything ready to mount the scope which should be in from The Optic Zone Friday (jon and tammy are great to deal with)  I decided on Talley aluminum rings for it they only come in matte, does anyone have experience in possibly lightly bead blasting the outer surface to make them match more to the stainless reciever?  they are aluminum so rust wont be a problem, any ideas before I mess up a good set of mounts? thanks Hal

Mount the rings as they are and see if you like them. I like matte rings/bases and scopes on stainless rifles as many times the "stainless look" rings and scopes don't match the rifle's finish. My Ruger 77 is stainless so it has matching stainless rings. I mounted a matte scope on it.
