I hope that they are good , I just bought the 3x9 from TJs for $229 but am waiting for it to arrive . I was suprised to find that the 3x9 has more eye relief than the 2x7 and that was a deciding factor for me .

I have more than a few of that model and some are the lighted rectiule ones which I prefer.

Scopes are a matter of personal preferences and comprimises on capabilities.

Although I have some other brands, I really like those T/C pistol scopes and they have worked well for me.  Never had any mechanical problems or any optical problems with them.

Robert, I have 2.5-7X TC, Simmons, and Nichols.  They are all the same scope....all from Japan(where else?)...all have performed great for many years on many different barrels.  Of course, the Simmons is no longer available and I haven't seen a Nichols of any kind for quite some time.  Both the Simmons and Nichols were a good bit cheaper than the TC but I doubt the warranty and service would match either. Knock on wood, I haven't had to find out. GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt

T/C scope
« Reply #7 on: April 27, 2003, 01:55:31 PM »
:D I just got my T/C 3-9 yesterday, put it on my 14" .223 and went to the range. Seems good, I put about 50 rounds through it.
At the higher power I start to shake to much, but on six power I hit a 18" gong at 300 yd. every shot off of shooting stix, kneeling.
wish it had a better field of veiw at the higher power's.
Got it from ED's Contender's ( 225.00 shipped)
The 2.5-7 was (195.00 shipped)
Great guy to do bussiness with.
P.S. don't change brands of ammo when sighting in,
it will take forever :-D

TC 2.5x7 Scope
« Reply #8 on: April 30, 2003, 05:08:31 AM »
I have three of these and have had no trouble with them. I have one on my 309JDJ 15" brl. I have one on my 45-70 Super 14 and one on my 7-30 Waters Super 14 w/break. All seem to stay at zero and are clear with low or high power. I think the field of view shrinks a little on 7 power but not enough to worry about. I bought one new  and two used. The used scopes had been on several heavy recoil pistols so I guess they are built pretty good. I don't know which is the best way to go on the scope rings as far as two or three rings. I have two rings on my 309JDJ and on my 45-70 and haven't seen any problems yet.
Here is a photo of my 309JDJ

I was wondering were you got your grip, as I am looking for a grip with the thumb rest.
Also how do like the 7-30 Waters and how accurate is it.[/b]

Thought I would chime in about the T/C Scopes.  I've used 2.5-7x  exclusively on my 358 JDJ 14" barrel for about 15 years.  It always gave me a good clear view with a decent field of view at the lower powers.  A couple of years ago I forgot to snap the flap on my Uncle Mikes shoulder holster and sure enough as I climbed into my tree stand the Contender and scope fell free twenty feet to the ground.  It hit right on the scope bending it severly.  I contacted T/C and they said send it in.  I was waiting for them to call me to tell me the replacement cost (I expained what had happened and it was all my fault) when the mailman dropped of a new T/C Scope.  Cost = 0.  You might say I am a loyal T/C customer, both of there handguns and scopes.  And best of all this new scope is every bit as good as the old one.....good shooting.....RW

I have one too and I keep asking the same question. Who makes them for T/C????? No one seems to know.  Never heard any negative comments about them being reliable at least.

T/C scopes
« Reply #12 on: May 10, 2003, 12:11:33 AM »
I had a T/C scope on a 30/30 barrel on my Contender.  It was totally reliable and a very good scope.  I recently purchased a Burris 3X12 scope for a 7/30 Waters barrel and it is a significantly all around better scope.  However it is significantly higher priced than the T/C scope.
