dull bore accuracy drop off
« on: February 11, 2007, 01:55:55 PM »
I recently bought a new savage stainless synthetic in 7mm 08 . I have put about 60 rounds through it and have cleaned it 3 times (after each outing). The bore has become very dull and nothing I have tried seems to clean it (sweets hoppes no9 ptches bronze brush etc). Initially the groups were very good less than moa now it's about 2 moa and i'm a bit concerned. Any thoughts on this?

thanks
si

If you used Sweets 7.62 and got all the copper out, and have all the powder fouling out I would guess that you have some screws that have loosened up in your scope mount. If not that check all the screw that hold the action in the stock. The newer Savages have been pretty accurate from thr factory compaired to the one from in 1970`s and 80`s.
