My First Hog Hunt Results

Well, I finally went hog hunting. It was great. Went with a friend and my brother. The three of us ran all up and down the hills of Monterey Tennessee. We all got one. Mine was great. The guide service said it was the biggest they had gotten in quite a few years. It was over 400 LBs and measured over 5 feet from its butt to its head. I was thrilled. I was having trouble with my scope on my revolver so I ended up using my Marlin 1894SS. It was shot using 44 Mag 300Gr Federal Cast Core ammo. One through the lungs and one through the neck.

It was a Boar.
My better half and I are going to try some recipes before we invite anyone over.
My Outfitter was

. They were nice. Not quite up to their brochure, but I had a good hunt. Their guides had to stay at camp and process animals because someone didn't show up. The guides were not happy and neither were the hunters. We still had to pay "Guide" fees. The food was good, weather was excellent and the company was sublime. Will probably try

next year. I would go back there though if I didn't need (or want) a guide.
