Prayer absolutely works
« on: June 15, 2026, 06:40:52 PM »
( wow- I was able to log in trouble free, but did not pray to )

Prayer does work, but not always when we want it to.
I've been praying for help to solve a problem I've had,
and today the solution was delivered to me. I knew
immediately that asking the Creator for help was why
I was able to see the result before my eyes.
No, I didn't pray for a winning lottery ticket, but having
my prayer answered felt like a jackpot win, and a huge
burden that weighed me down with worry turned into wings.
I didn't have to call a television preacher on a 1-800
line, or buy a Bible secrets/ Bible decoding book.
Just sincere prayer from me to Him.

It doesn't cost anything and certainly can't hurt

I also thought about the movie "Where the Red Fern grows" when
Billy Coleman and Grandpa speak about meeting God halfway

I have found that the Lord reaches out to us in what we might think of as unusual ways like the movie "Where the Red Fern Grows", we just need to be paying attention.

Yea; prayer works...but doesn't always work to the way we want it to.  He has His plan, and it will come about..

( was able to log in again with no difficulty   :D)

Another prayer answered for me today and a simple
solution to a difficult problem ( I had only imagined
the difficulty- sometimes problems are in your head
and not real ) was revealed to me. I haven't had such
a trouble free morning in I don't know when.

I wouldn't say I disagree so much as I look at it differently.
I don't believe that the Creator has every minute detail of
our lives planned and written down, although I do believe
He is certainly capable of that.
I believe He sets options and paths before us to choose as
the mortal being we are hoping we'll do the right and just
thing as we live our daily lives with satan right at our elbow
silently urging us to choose the easy road.
I believe this because of the most important decision we
can make, that of eternal salvation or eternal damnation
is left entirely up to us and us alone.
I do not believe we are pre-ordained to one or the other, and we
have to make that choice ourselves. He gives us the map
and the ability to take the right path. Navigating it is on us.

   Pretty much agreed with ^^

To clarify, "but doesn't always work to the way we want it to."..  Sometimes we pray for a specific healing or that a certain event work out positively, but it doesn't go that way.

There are times when God has a different plan in mind. For instance, Abraham & Sarah prayed for years for an heir..but none came..so they took things into their own hands..

They seemed to have forgotten that God had promised them an heir, but instead the utilized their maid Hagar to produce a son Ishmael. Still, God declared their own, full son, Jacob to be His promised heir.

Ishmael in turn, produced all those semitic tribes who oppose Jacob's people Israel, until this day.

Abraham & Sarah prayed for a son and thought they had it figured out...but God had a different plan.

Indeed, God answers prayer, but it may well be yes, no or not  right now...but he doesn't necessarily do what we want, when we want.

Still, we are to be persistent in our prayers (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
