Lots of anarchy in mexico from the
cartels after a higher-up taken out.
Years ago, they were everywhere
just like today, but the unwritten
rule was that they stayed out of the
touristy areas and resorts, and left
the tourists spending money in the
mercados and businesses alone.
From what I understand, there's a
good many Americanos stranded
and can't leave the resort areas.

I've been looking for it ( not forward
to it) for years now, and every
time I would try to relate the situation
to someone, I'd get the "brown hater"
lectures.
The southern border states have been
seeing/experiencing hideous cartel
murders and the aftermaths for years.
Frankly, I'm surprised that American
news agencies gave any of this latest
carnage any mention.
Probably had to with having several
tourists live streaming the burning
buildings, cars, etc.



I started to post this earlier, but I
first thought that it'd be taken as
an "I told you so" gloat instead of
an informative statement.
Many seem to still be apathetic to
the happenings all around us

Looks like the Mexican Air Force was called in, they are shooting up the local police with military grade weapons.
Mexican forces seized rocket launchers capable of shooting down aircraft during the operation Sunday that killed cartel boss Ruben "Nemesio" Oseguera Cervantes, known as "El Mencho," underscoring how the Mexican Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) amassed military-style firepower over the years.

Authorities have previously linked CJNG to a 2015 attack in Jalisco in which cartel gunmen used rocket-propelled grenades to bring down a Mexican military helicopter – one of the starkest examples of a cartel directly engaging federal forces with battlefield-grade weapons.

All I can say is, it should have happened long, long ago. This ‘can’ has been kicked so far down the road now it’ll take forever to get back and that road has gotten darker and darker since. The cartels money filthy hands reach far and wide.

There was too much apathy by government
and the citizenry in mexico and the US as well.
Still is pretty much.
In this country, I still see a lot of enabling and
making excuses for lawless/uncivilized
behavior.
Many think that because they can't/don't/won't
see things happening in their own daily sphere,
that it doesn't affect them.


Should have given the mex government an
ultimatum to clean up xxxxx so-and-so by
xxxx date,  or we're sending in whatever
firepower needed to do the job, and
escalating in whatever degree needed.
The nation's borders also need to be
secured in the same fashion that the
berlin border was secured, and the
north korean border is secured today.

  Do the Mexican and Minnesota politicians share some practices, perhaps?  I'm convinced that NY has some of those types also.

I'm hearing that some of the
American tourists have been
taken away from one or more
of the resorts or hotels where
they were ordered to shelter in
place.
One of those things that is hard
to confirm because of the m.s.m.
policies of making excuses for
criminals and criminal activities

Mexican government smartens up more, get rid of all of the drug cartels, and start building more vacation resorts like Cancun and the like. They could end up pulling billions more money in with the tourist trade.

The tourist trade used to be mexico's
bread and butter for many decades
until they allowed the drug trade in.
That and their low grade petroleum.

Several of us used to cross and
patronize the mercados and
various restaurants, and the
outdoor activities they offered
for very little money.
Mexico has some of the better
hunting and fishing that can be
found on this side of the globe.
There was some crime, but the
unwritten rule was don't mess
with the touristas or the resort
areas, or the federales will cut
you a new rectum.
These days, there's no way in
the world I'd try to go to some of
those places even for a weekend.
