There have been recently a fair number articles/videos saying how U.S. slavery was not new, nor were we the only countries with that type of slavery. It does not make it less a very sad state of affairs but removes the U.S. as the only bogey man.
A few years back there was a movie about a female warrior division in Africa, - The Woman King - that helped their Kingdom defeat the enemy African tribe based on a true story on a Kingdom in what became the country of Benin.
Viola Davis played a major role in the movie (she truly busted her buttocks and got in shape). She said it was good to have a movie showing what women were capable of , but, also said she had many second thoughts about doing it as, -- the tribe she represented, sold the defeated Africans into slavery, in the West, for money.
Probably why that movie did not get much blah, blah when it was released as Liberals could not brag it without looking like fools.
