Recent examples of that confusion..
Greenland;
He wanted the US to control the northwest passage and complete the "Golden dome" defense system, establish a major bases for our military, plus get control of Greenland's minerals. None of which we have, except for a small installation in Thule. To effect this, he needed bases in Greenland
So keep in mind, as the "Art of the Deal' president said.."ask for the stars...and get the moon"...
He even hinted at military takeover (brinkmanship).. Finally, we ended up with exactly what he wanted..even though he didn't get everything he asked for..
...Remember the moon? ...Didn't need the moon anyway..
So, what did the Danes and Euros get? ...Nothing , except the claim that Trump didn't get ALL he asked for..
Some even claimed he backed down... Well yes he did... after he got just what he wanted in the first place...
In the end, Trump is happy, since he got exactly what he wanted... and the Euros are happy, since they have the
symbolism of having dealt tough
with the big, bully president....and symbolism itself is enough for them !
