SNAP benefits might shutdown by Nov. 1
« on: October 20, 2025, 08:36:55 AM »
Newsmax article, the government shut down might mean SNAP benefits might not be available after Nov. 1st. In Ill. alone that's almost 1.4 million people. Over 41 million nationwide. 50-60 years ago, no such program. Looks like giving away free food and such has done exactly what that experiment somebody did, by throwing out free food to the animals and it draws them in by the hundreds. Wonder how these ''animals'' will react if they don't get free food?

Now on some of the MSM, looks like EBT/SNAP is going to end first of November. Things might just get interesting shortly.

LOL! Yeah the majority on snap benefits are 100 pounds over weight. Most of them could probably stand to skip a meal or two. Cracks me up when the news shows starving fat people in a food bank line.

Yes I have. I guess obesity anymore must be considered a handicap, because after they pay with their tax payer funded card they walk out and climb into a $60,000 car thats parked in a handicap spot.

Yeah, a basket of deplorables is what I carry to the register while their cart and spandex are overflowing.

Do not be too harsh. Were it not for us having jobs they would not be able to stay up with the Joneses or to purchase our "level of luxury". I would not trade places.

Consider what they face going home every night:
Fatherless homes
a scad of runny nosed curtin climbers
a lack of culinary expertise, except fried chicken or fish
appliances, if any, from the 3rd world
a part of and contributory to a ghetto presence
no skin in the game
no pride in ownership
no defined "place" in the world

All of these are exposed in their rudderless, victim owning, racist"leadership" who want power, like all democrats, for themselves. The Dems "claim" to be for the Middle Class, meaning stay ignorant of the issues, we'll tell you (or vote for you), when the time comes.

I know people who have gotten food stamps or debit cards now.  They also went to food banks and got food.  There are or were several food banks around here ran by churches.  People brought dry and canned goods for donation.  My church tried to screen people to find out if they really needed stuff before they would allow them to come.  Ours was on Wednesday evening before the Wednesday service.  I went through a divorce in the early 90's.  Wife left me after 22 years and left me with 7 kids from 17 to 4 years old to finish raising.  I made too much to get food stamps, but my church allowed me to go to the food bank during that time for a couple of years.  My oldest two girls got married as soon as they got out of high school (I guess they were tired of being moms too early).  Then my oldest son moved out a couple of year later.  That left me with 4, however, my mother kept my youngest for a while since he wasn't in school to start with.  8 year after I divorced, I met my current wife of 20 years now, and she helped with the younger 4.  All are doing fine.  Oldest daughter is still married and had 2 kids.  2nd oldest ended up divorced to first husband, and married a 2nd, had 2 kids and adopted a 3rd.  Her husband recently died after 17 years of marriage at 48 years old.  She is still grieving after a year now.  Others married have children and are fine.  Got off subject here, but yeah, some got food stamps for a while when they were young.  It helped, now everyone makes enough money to buy homes and cars etc, and don't need them.

But what I was getting to, is in the south, there are food banks for these people, usually ran by churches.  This can help if it helps them get to church and get their life turned around, especially in an evangelical type church.

We can thank LBJ for creating this mess when he signed in the Great Society bill in 1965. Like the UN, MAYBE it was started with good intentions, But, like most government programs, gets lost in the greed.

Of course, it's not just the SNAP and EBT that gets cut down now..  My grandson (a weapons expert for NATO)..is now working for free, until the Dumacrats get a civilized thought in their collective heads.

Since he'll get paid for all his time when the shutdown ends, he is not working for free.  But, I get the sentiment.

NATO isn't shut down. So if he works for NATO as implied he should be getting paid right along.

It'll never happen, but a mandatory drug,
alcohol, and nicotine screening would
eliminate half the problems and the
fraud. Fail the test, no longer eligible

Nope ! He called yesterday !  As I said above, he is working without pay at this time, but once the Dumacrats wake up and cave, he will of course, get back pay !

I figure when the EBT is done the blacks will start rioting, and robbing stores. Then the republicans will give the democrats what they want, just like they always do.

I figure when the EBT is done the blacks will start rioting, and robbing stores. . . .
They'll start waiting for people to come outside
with their cart of groceries and jack em up.
Not sure what they'll do for their newports
and booze except grab and run.
I imagine that there'll be a big demand
for thick plexiglass enclosures at liquor
stores and convenience stores, and
places like wallyworld will cease having
beer and wine out on an open display.

I've been pondering whether or not District
Attorney Creuzot will actually be forced to
start prosecuting thefts like he should have
been all along, or if he'll continue to ignore
theft crimes by brown people like he has
been for years
Might be some scrutiny shined on him
now instead of looking the other way like
has been done for years. Hard to say one
way or another. I get BLM sympathy vibes
from the new chief of DPD like with Bolton
and Hall. A chief that wants to arrest and
jail gets frustrated with the city council and
mayor's office and leaves
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

What I was hinting at in my first post. When the riots of 2020 took place, many were paid protesters. What will they do when their really hungry and desperate? If you don't carry now, you better learn how shortly!

Our church also has a food handout program. I wish there were an accurate way of being sure it is the needy getting the goods, but I see no way of doing that.

I am not against any who may partake, but some weeks the supply is short, and i would prefer that the truly needy get the food.

Our area is about 99.5% white, so the spongers are not confined to any race.  I am not against anyone getting "free stuff", but I would like to see the truly needy as first in line.

Of course, among them it is usually some kind of destructive habit that puts them on that list.
