Church Shootings and Church Security Teams
« on: Today at 01:29:24 AM »
Recently I was invited to give a class/seminar to a fairly large Baptist church. The person in charge of the detail says he has limited law enforcement experience back in the 1970s.
In giving the class I left it open, and encouraged questions from the detail. I got very few, and my sense when I asked them questions, was that they, while meaning well, didn't know enough about the mission to ask questions.
I believe after much thought that 99% of church security teams enjoy the notoriety of being on the security team, but lack the mental, and physical dedication.
For instance, the head of this security team started carrying a pistol every day after the class, for about a week. Then it was back to hardly ever.

I completely believe that being permanently armed is mandatory, and necessarily a lifestyle to be competent in protecting ones self, ones family,  and in this case a congregation. It's NOT A ONCE A WEEK ENDEAVOR.

The link below illustrates what 1 man, however demented, but dedicated can do in a few minutes.

Grown men should take this to heart, and realize that craziness doesn't have a posted schedule.

michigan has some funky laws on church carry. if you dont have a license to carry you cant even open carry in a church. if you have a concealed license you cant conceal carry but technically you can open carry. with the churches permission you can conceal carry. catholic church is wishy washy about it. they dont come right out and say yes or no. just that they dont condone it. even a cop not in uniform is subject to these rules.  easy fix for me is i shut my mouth and carry. only one that knows is my buddy who is the sheriff and he carries anytime he's awake.  i wouldnt open carry because it make some nervous and i love my gun rights and dont want to recruit for the other side. only time i open carry is on the property, sometimes walking the dog down the trail or when im heading to camp.

Meet Jack Wilson. The epitome of what I'm talking about. He owns a gun range, and he is constantly armed.

Totally familiar tools always at hand,  and proper mindset. Everything one needs to win a gunfight.

The end results,  speak for themselves.
