Paralyzed
« on: December 23, 2020, 09:23:40 AM »
I’ve had a bad disc in my back for many years but I’ve always managed to do things I shouldn’t.
Today I was bent over cutting off a downspout and my legs just suddenly collapsed.
That left me in a squatting position with my bad knee screaming for help.
Nancy ran over and helped me do a controlled fall so I could straighten that bad knee.

But then, I couldn’t get up, my legs were about useless.
So, she yelled for the neighbor and the two of them lifted me up to sit on the porch.
It took three tries before I was able to walk and climb the two steps.
As I walked I was trying to fall backwards,so I hung on to Nancy and she got me in and in bed.
So, some prayers would be helpful.
My normal pain is trying to return so that’s a good sign.
I was nearly paralyzed in my back and legs.

So please pray, and I thank you in advance.

Don't let it get you down Ron. I was in that same situation in late 2016. Had to buy a wheel chair. A neurosurgeon in Birmingham ordered two separate injections of some sort into my spine. Took awhile but I've been up and walking since early 2017.

Get to a neurosurgeon and see if he can do same for you.

I have Orthopedic that’s familiar with my back.
If all the pain returns I’ll be good to go, if it doesn’t, I’ll be over there getting a Ct scan.
I can’t have a MRI anymore because of this defibrillator in my chest.

Praying already, along with other prayers for your family... May the Lord bless you with a swift recovery.
Don't neglect to have it checked out, though !

Hopefully, you'll recover

When I was in the hospital a while
back, my leg and arm would stop
working from time to time. It's a
terrible and frightening feeling

Still severe pain in lower back, legs , and hips.
When I walk my right hip seems to not want to pull me along.
So, my wife is having to do the cooking now because I can’t stand for more than about a minute.

I feel for you. I know personaly how debilitating back pain can be. I too loose my left foot about once a month. Its due to neuropathy that makes that both feet numb all the time and its tough walking when you cant feel your feet on the ground. Thankfully when mine go out i dont get extra pain. Doctor told me its due to pinched nerves and damaged nerves in my back and there isnt much that can be done for it. He told me nerves are about the slowest healing part of your body so if he did try to correct it there would be substainial increase in my pain for a good year and even then there would be no guarantee id get improvement in the long run. So i walk with a cane. Not because i need one to walk but because it might save me if they give out. Tried going without when my pain level is down but found that pain level has nothing to do with it. It happens just like what happened to you. Just move wrong once and there it is. A movement that was fine today might trigger it tommarow. Just a price i have to pay for my military time and my wilder younger days. I will pray for you though. Its not a pleasant experience and with your added pain its got to be miserable.

LOL, I’ve been the cook for so long that I forgot what a good cook she is.  But she hates to cook or shop for groceries.

Lloyd, yeah it happened so suddenly that I guess a lot of damage was done in an instant.
If no big improvement after the 1st of the year I’ll try the epidurals again.
