Rut in the Ouacita's
« on: October 06, 2020, 05:18:43 AM »
Well, the bucks are starting to get interested. Noticed the other day the bigger bucks are hanging around the doe/ fawn pods.
First rut here in my area is in full swing by the third week of October. I, have not scouted the farm for scrapes yet, will later this week after the hay is up.
Purchased a fresh bottle of Pyrodex yesterday will, check zero before season opening on the 17th. Will most likely take a young doe for steaks and jerky, let the big boys go till second rut.

How is it going in your part of the state?
