2003 yamaha lower unit advise needed

I like to ask were is the shift linkage to be disconnected on the 90 HP 2 stoke.I need to change the water pump?

I'd suggest getting to it where you can see it probibly up top where the coupler and jamb nut are located, I used some 4" needle nosed vice grips to hold the shaft from rotateing and loosining the jamb nut and unscrewing the upper  linkage, the vice grips keep the lower linkage from poping down too low to start the nut again when reassembling.
