the adverage sturgeon we catch is 5' to 7' long but the biggest we have caught was 9' long and took close to an hour and a half to land and revive before release.super tough fish. awesome to see jump out of the water while fighting. This isn't my boat but it is in the area that I fish

Here in idaho we can catch and release the sturgeon but cannot take them out of the water. But they are sure fun to catch and video the fight and take pictures.

About where on the Snake River do you fish?  I had grandparents that lived in Pocatello and also Jerome.  I remember going to Twin Falls and driving down to the river.  When there is water flowing it is beautiful, during low water it almost looks spooky.

we fish down by king hill and glens ferry and some by hagerman. Yes some of the river running is like going through a mine field big rocks and some fair sized rapids.
