Stolen 722-UPDATE_Please Read!

 I recently bought a 722 from a man in Ohio..He packaged the gun,disassembled...The stock and barreled action were taken from the box by a postal Handler somewhere between Howard Ohio and Corpus Christi TX.
It is a 222mag and the serial number is 416952.
Sad thing is, they did not get the bolt so nobody wins in this scenario...

Hi , how did they know it was a postal worker? And did they find out exactly which worker it was?
And then if so , did they fire them, charge them with anything, beat them with a stick, what?
Or was it more than likely just an "oh well" type of thing?

I say POSTAL HANDLER because between the time one drops off a package and it being delivered, only postal handlers handle it...They are searching the path of the package to see if perhaps it broke free of the box and fell out which is likely if not packed right...Hopefully they will find it in a postal handling area somewhere between here and there and get it to me.

Do you know that the guy you bought it from even put that in the box? You could have gotten ripped off.

Shipping weight would give a clue if just the bolt was shipped.

 Not yet, I sent the appeal last week..I will post that result when it comes in and if it is negative, I will file a law suit.

Hopefully both of you were authorized to ship/receive firearms via usps or it could be worse than just a lost firearm.

Yeah, I guess it is not all that clear as I described the details.
 I will elaborate.
Mr Reausseau who legally owned the Remington, shipped it to my FFL.
Since there was nothing in the package to log in, my ffl had no claim.
 The shipper, sent to me at my request, the insurance receipt since I had paid for it and had
wanted to keep some of the parts to build another gun, which, fortunately, I have done.
  He had his money so I filed the claim and now have filed the appeal to the irrational decision that the gun was mailed illegally and is concealable.

I got the check yesterday and it was actually for $80 more than the claim... ???  ???

That's fantastic. It took a little bit of hassle, but it eventually worked out.
These stories don't usually turn out that well.
