The F-P and .404 sight combo is the same as I have, what's the farthest you've been able to shoot with it? I have only shot mine at 100yds so far..

thx

hi quick i have mine zeroed at 110 meters 4bars down on sight . that zero is with 500 grain lee 500r mould with gas check cast in pure lead 72 grains fff goex black powder. not had buff long still  trying loads, i would guess that  with that bullet and load  and sight up to max hight it should reach 500 meters maybe more. are bigest ssaa range here in west australia is 350 meters, so i will have to test it out on one of the stations i shoot on.by the way i get no leading from this load, recoil not a problem.you should try this load its very acuret.hope this helped  bernie ps i will post results when i get to try long range with this load

Cool! I only shoot smokeless in mine, black powder is hard to get here in small quantities, but I can get pyrodex or triple 7, but it costs justs as much as smokeless and I would have to use 95gr of T7 instead of 43gr of 5744 in the 45-120, so I would use twice as much T7 as smokeless for the same velocity, so you know what I'm using! I'm shooting 405gr & 460gr Cast Performance WLNGC and 405gr remington soft points. With the 460gr loads, it's zeroed at 100yds, the 405gr loads shoot about 1½" higher. This is with the rear sight all the way to the bottom of it's travel.

Thanks for the info..

hi quick got the newes on long range with the fp.tride it out to day on a friend of a friends farm. found a nice gully to shoot in, set pegs at 200-300-400-500-600 meters.i used the odmeter on the car, the sight at full hight with my loads was hitting  4 inches high at 600 meters. not bad grouping  considering the wind 7/3/4 inch.i think with smokeless loads same bullet at 1500fps would give 700 meters. bernie

Wow!!! That's surprising that the FP sight will allow that range, thanks!
