Bought the 750 35 Whelen carbine this past fall. I had great trepidation considering the reviews I read on the gunboards. But between it being a Remington, a carbine and a 35 Whelen I was drawn in like a moth to a flame.
Traded a Remington SP-10 to Budsgunshop.com and only had to lay out $40 bucks. The SP-10 was gathering dust. I did not need a 14 lb gun to kill a kurkey.
I mounted a Nikon Prostaff 2X7 first with a Warne QD scope mount, my favorite mount, but later remounted it with a O/U scope mount. Just liked the way the scope sat up high and that is the set up I have on my 7600 35 Rem carbine that I like so much.
Sighted in the gun no problem, no feeding issues, tested five different 30-06 mags I use with my 7400 all no problem and did not have the problem that I have with the 7400 of shots wandering after the barrel heats up.
Only carried the gun this year. Did not shoot anything. The only problem is the screw that attaches the sling to the swivel scratched the forarm up bad and I did not notice until the damage was done.
The jury is still out on this gun but it is working so far.
MIKE.
