Ya might try the Sidekick forend.

Tim

EDIT:  H&R has synthetic forends specifically for the Huntsman, part# FM03107.

Thanks Tim,
The Sidekick forend will not work. This is actually for a friend of mine and he ordered a Sidekick forend from H&R, he said it was the only synthetic muzzleloader forend they had. After receiving it he discovered that the hole spacing for the barrel attachment screw was different.
I told him that I would try my best to find one for him, that's why I'm here, this is by far the best place to get help with H&R problems.

I'll contact Choate and see if they can help.

Thanks again, Tim!

I thought maybe that would be the case, could it be altered to work, or is it too short? It's not hard to drill and counter bore it to fit, you'd just have an extra hole in it that shouldn't affect function.

Hey Tim, just an update.
My friend called Choate and asked if they had a forend for a Huntsman. They told him they had two different forends and they would need a picture of what he needed with a tape measure in the picture for refernce. ???

I took some pictures of mine and he snail mailed them to Choate.

He received the forend today. It is the correct forend but they put a wood screw sling swivel stud in the forend instead of the 10-32 machine screw stud. They also forgot the spring steel ramrod retainer and the nut that holds it in place.

He gave it to me and I made the retainer out of some spring steel and installed the correct swivel stud and Loc-Tited the nut in place.

Thanks for the tip on who to call, it was a bit of a bumpy ride but we got there!

Did they forget the retaining spring ?  Or does it not come with it ?
Do you know the part# for the huntsman forend?

This forend was actually for a friend of mine, he called Choate and ordered it and paid them. I didn't ask how much it was.
I thought about the forend not having the ramrod retaining spring and told my friend that H&R probably just ordered the stocks and installed the hardware themselves.
If you call Choate about a forend be sure to ask about the correct swivel stud, retaining spring and nut.

I Asked them in an e-mail my first was a question about black synthetic forends here was their reply.

We do have the forends but we only sold them to H&R and they completed them. You have to use the hardware off you wood forend.
Thanks

I asked about price including shipping, part number, and est delivery time.

The part OEM MO3107 Muzzleloader Forend at $21.00. They are in stock.UPS ground take 3-7 days for $8.50, we can also send next day and second day but it cost more.
Thanks
Fred

Hope this helps about whether they send hardware and other info.

That info should be added to the FAQ's.

I ordered a synthetic forearm from NEF and even said it was for a Huntsman. They said they had one and I paid for it. When I got it, it was too long. Guess it was for the Sidekick. I didn't keep track of the receipt so now I'm stuck with it. I'll try using the information above and ordering a new one. Glad I found this thread.

You're not the first to be burned by CS not knowing their products, you're not necessarily stuck with it, sell it in the H&R Classifieds.  ;)
