I put together a spreadsheet that combines Chuck Hawks Rifle Recoil, Ballistics and Trajectory Tables, as I was so tired of referring back and forth to three separate pieces of paper to find the information I needed on different cartridges. The spreadsheet covers 83 cartridges.

I developed it for my own use and as a thank you to Chuck for all the work he does for the shooting community and his website, his resources helped me a lot to get started in centerfire at my late age. Unfortunately, he could find no way to publish it, and he also thought it was a bit too much info in one place for him, but he thought folks might like it.

As it is not for sale or published on Hawks website, I would like to offer it to any GBO member for their own use.

One recipient printed it out, 4 pages, hole punched and put it in a binder. I have saved the printing parameters for Landscape output with the file. If you want to print it as Portrait, go to Page Setup and make the change and save it.

A couple of points about using the spreadsheet:

1) Sorting - You are able to sort by any criteria.
2) You can add cartridges and your own data.

To view part of the table - click on CombinedRifleTable.jpg.
To instantly download a copy to your desktop - click on CombinedHawksTable.xls.zip.

Enjoy,

Thanks.

Looks like good stuff Brian, don't know of a way to host it here,  I use my ISP to host files that can't be attached, maybe yours will?

email sent.  Thanks, that is most generous of you to share.

Edit:  Brian, I received the spreadsheet with no problem.  I did make a couple of changes for my own use before I saved it.  I "hid" the top row, and I "froze" the rows at row3 so that when I scrolled, the column headings would always be visible.  Great work.  thanks

Thanks Brian!

I e-mailed you for a copy yesterday at 2:15 PM and I received the copy at 2:16 PM (that was pretty darn fast service ;D).

Per your request for feedback: 1) I had no problem opening my copy; and 2) I found the spreadsheet to be very useful in that all data could be seen at the same time rather than having to switch between Chuck's web pages.

In addition, I found the spreadsheet to be well formatted and easy to read. Excellent Job and thanks again.

skunk - Thanks for the feedback, that is exactly what I was after and will the most helpful for others. I did some web research on readability before I finished the spreadsheet and you have confirmed what was claimed. Georgia font is the most screen readable font for content. It is also claimed that Verdana is the most screen readable for titles. Enjoy.

Excellent ideas! After reading the above, I also "hide" and "froze" mine. Now it is near perfect, especially being able to keep the Headers on top.
