Heads up on Used roll pins
« on: May 04, 2009, 11:49:50 AM »
I guess this is one of those little things that we don't foresee until it happens. ::) I was working with the 35 Remington today, went to remove the barrel and it wouldn't come off the frame, finally figured out that the small extractor cam roll pin had worked partially out preventing barrel removal!! :-\ So anyone reusing roll pins that feel a little bit loose when reinstalled may want to either use new roll pins(best), or do as I did as a quick remedy and stake the pin in with a centerpunch offsetting a little bit of metal on each side of the hole to prevent the roll pin from working its way out. A little Loctite may work too.  ;)

I've added this to the Ejector to Extractor conversion thread in the FAQs.

Thanks for the heads up Tim!
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

Thanks for that tip, Tim.

On larger size roll pins that seemed a little 'tired' I've driven a small nail or something through them to open the curl some before re-use.

I'm new to the site, and have seen several references to "See the FAQ's", however I can't seem to find the way to the FAQ's. How do I get there???
