well my 204 loads use a hornady 32gr vmax and varget but they are as hot as a night after eating taco's in hell. but i will say that the faster i loaded it the better it shot, so for a quick fix work your way up to YOUR RIFLE'S MAX LOAD (not your manual ) back it down, about .3 and then start backing it down .3gr at a time , shooting groups 3 shot groups and i''ll bet by the time you reach 1 grain under your max you'll find your sweet spot.

(BTW i'm away from my load notes right now, i'm in iraq, but i think my best groups were at 31.0 grains of BL-C2 but don't quote me on that, and my 204 can freeking shoot just anybody who went to the first P-dog shoot or entered a postal match)

good luck have fun and keep us posted

My best results were with H4895 max - 0.3 and sierra 39's.

I had good accuracy with blc-(2) and the lighter bullets, I could not get anywhere near max before I hit pressures signs though.

My results with varget were only OK.

Never tried it personally but reloader 10 is reported to do well with the light bullets as well

I had the same pressure problem with BL-C(2) with just mid-level loads. My best accuracy so far is with IMR-4895 loaded light. I still haven't got the latch and mating lug surface to mate-up evenly across the width of the lug so-------------- I still haven't got my 204BB shooting to its potential. It is nominally 1MOA so far with 32 gr. Vmax's. I still hope, with light stoning/rebluing between range sessions, to better this.

Good luck with yours.

Mitch, I was thinkin your load was BL-C2 cuz that's what I used, and it worked well!! ;D Remember all the fuss Fred made over it!!  :D  I didn't get the same accuracy you did, but it's the best mine's done so far with the 40gr Vmax.
