« on: October 25, 2007, 12:20:55 PM »
Today I was at the range shooting my ultra rifle in 243win and the transfer bar fall out of it. Has anyone had this happen to there rifle? I can see where it came from and could put it back in but what keeps it there?  Lorne

There was sort of bad bunch of them with the transfer bars falling out about a year ago.Seems as though someone forgot to peen a pin in it properly.I called NEF and they sent me a new one and I installed it myself.Others just sent there's in to be fixed. Its been awhile since anyone has had this problem, but there was 1 or 2 aweek for awhile haveing this happen.   Digger

The transfer bar is two pieces, the lifter and the striker, only part of it fell out, the peened on striker part that Digger mentioned, the other part is held in by a pin and is still in there.

Here's a pic, the arrow points to the little shaft on the lifter that the striker is peened onto .
