New SBS Frame Designation

The new SBS rifle designation that's listed in the Sports South inventory is for the new scoped rifle offerings from H&R NEF, it's not a new frame as I thought it might be. Looking thru the 2007 catalog, they show lots of firearms with the inspection port on them, so that may be something to expect on current production guns.

So, I have forgotten why they put an inspection port on the new receivers, was it to inspect the latch and shelf??

Are this pics accurate...are the scope rings really gonna be that tall??

Yes, the port is to inspect latch engagement.

The pics in the catalog show high rings to my eye, those on the web site must be extra high cuz they're higher looking than those in the catalog.
